Spring cone

A spring cone is the fitting at the end of a torsion spring that anchors it to the shaft or frame and allows the spring's winding tension to be adjusted.

Spring cones are the point most engineers use winding bars against when adjusting or replacing a torsion spring under tension. They should never be handled without the correct tools and training.
